Privacy Policy
Weldzen (“we”, “us”, “our”) publishes independent welding equipment reviews, buying guides, and field notes at weldzen.com. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
We keep data collection deliberately small: there are no user accounts, no public comments, and no third-party advertising trackers on this site.
Who we are
Weldzen is an independent editorial publication. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact form and choose “Something else” as the subject.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, selected subject, message, and the time of submission. The form also includes a hidden anti-spam field.
- Newsletter: your email address, the time you subscribed, and the page you subscribed from.
- Correspondence: if you email us directly, we keep the message so we can follow up and correct the record.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser type, requested URL, referring page, and timestamp. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic reporting.
- Essential cookies: WordPress may set a cookie to keep a form session working or to remember a logged-in administrator. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To answer your question, review request, or correction.
- To send the newsletter you asked for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site secure, prevent spam, and diagnose errors.
- To understand which pages are useful in aggregate (for example, total views per review). We do not build individual reader profiles.
Cookies and affiliate links
This site uses only essential cookies and the cookies required by our hosting platform. When you click a link to a retailer, that retailer may set its own cookies to attribute the visit. Those cookies are controlled by the retailer, not by Weldzen. See our affiliate disclosure for how those links work.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, and only as far as needed:
- Hosting and infrastructure: our web host stores the site, server logs, and form submissions.
- Email delivery: the service that sends the newsletter and contact notifications.
- Anti-spam and security services used by the hosting platform.
- Legal authorities, if we are required by law to disclose information or to protect our rights and readers.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on corrections and recurring questions. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we retain only the minimum suppression record needed to honor your request. Server logs are rotated by the hosting provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent for the newsletter. To make a request, use the contact form. We will verify the request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in the footer of every email.
International transfers
Our hosting and email providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on the providers’ standard contractual safeguards for those transfers.
Children
Weldzen is written for adults working in welding and fabrication. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our tools or legal obligations change. The “last updated” date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page.
